"Caricatures for SPITTING IMAGE - I mean, I don’t know what to say. As a lover of caricature growing up in the 80’s, Spitting Image was a british institution, the pantheon, the Olympus of facial distortion. Not in my wildest dreams would I ever be working for them. But here it is. In this year’s second season they asked me to contribute with caricatures of several characters. It’s an indescribable feeling to work with people that know a LOT about caricature, having been a professional caricaturist for 30 years. Roger Law, one of the original creators of the series and still at the helm, is the king, a gentleman and a well of knowledge, and I thank him for the guidance and invitation. These people, the caricaturists, sculptors and puppeteers know about CRAFT, and just being a part of the team is an immense privilege. One of my earliest drawings of Giuliani had his hair dripping ink, and they decided to literally make him ooze ink. I mean, how cool is that???? I feel like a 50’s girl at a Beatles concert, so I’m just going to shut up."
